Death’s Notes and Thoughts

I just finished Darker Then Black. Its overall an anime that is not too bad, but they messed up again a for me important part, the end of it. The Story is that in Tokyo a bizzare field occurs which human kind cant analyze. Along with the appereance of “Hells Gate” (thats how they call that area) some humans gain new and unknown powers. Some of these fearfuly beeings call “Contractors” missuse their new abilites for criminal acts or sometimes brutal murder. What they made good in this series was the abilities of the contractors, they’re fresh and not used like in other series where u think “hey, where did i know this from…”. Also the CG, in the beginning it wasnt fitting too good, but got better over the series. Its wondering me latly anyway, usually u could say first episode are the best in case of artwork, cg, and overall, in short in cases of quality. but latly it changed, first eps having often some small things, that dont fit, but the later are clean and good. It took me some time to get into the story, but once u in it get intresting. I missed a bit the sience in it, and some parts lack explanation in my eyes, since the “Gate” exist for some time when our story takes part, and considering how the story develop in the later episodes there is lots of stuff already known. its not that important but i like sience part of such series like gits, divergence eve and other scifi series. Anyway, what me brothered and make me giving it only a “fine” rating was the end. it reminded me a bit on black cat, it missed it real highlight. I mean it happend all too fast in the last 6 episodes and didnt got developed in that direction before enough for my taste. Also the end was keept a bit too wide open, it looks again as they had to make the end coming alone faster then originally planned (another drawback blackcat suffered). But still if one likes scifi he should give it a try. Like i said the whole thing is nice, beside the missing sience and the little too fast and open end. Maybe its just me… ^^
