Fumiko’s Confession – a great piece of independant anime
Here is some great piece of anime done by an independant author. I found it on Sankaku Complex and took a liking in it. It’s very simple storywise but sometimes like u can see here the less can be the more aka very funny. The clips also enjoys very high attention currently on YouTube and Nico Nico Druga. Without further words, here is the fun:

[Via Sankaku Complex]
Nintendo Wii, a dangerous console for u and your surroundings…
Latly I came across an article on Sangaku Complex telling us about how dangerous can a Wii be for your nice Plasma TV. Here u can see some pictures of the case explained on SC.
It appearently happend to some rambunctious 2ch Wii user. It have an intresting effect, doesn’t it ?
Last but not least I took the opportunity and dug around a bit for more, especially for videos documenting this failure, or additional Wii accidents and came across some fun ones. Also my friend Marcus was pointing out some to me, thanks for that.
So if u wanna get Wii make sure to follow the security instructions and regulary change the straps! Save playing~

Gake no ue no Ponyo CM (Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea) by Studio Ghibli
The story, set in a seaside town, revolves around a 5 year old boy, Sosuke, and the Princess goldfish, Ponyo, who wants to become human.
—
This time Miyazaki will tell a story drawn freely in watercolors and pastels about a 5 year old boy Sosuke and the princess goldfish Ponyo who wants to become human which of course will promise much good! An extra interesting thing is that the Goro Miyazaki (Hayao’s son) of when he was 5 years old has been chosen as the model for the main character Sosuke, which is interesting because in the summer of 2007 Goro Miyazaki made his director’s debut with Studio Ghibli’s “Gedo Senki” and Miyazaki senior was fiercely against it.

Is beeing a mediator hard ? Yea, Kurenai shows it!
The show is based on a light novel series by Katayama Kentarou, illustrated by Yamamoto Yamato. 16-year-old Shinkuro Kurenai is a Mediator – a specialist in settling squabbles between people. Despite his youth and easygoing nature, he is a man of some skills when it comes to protecting both his clients and his client’s interests. And then one day he is assigned as a bodyguard for Kuhouin Murasaki a seven-year-old. [stolen from AniDB] Desprite the kinda easygoing start of the series it gets pretty intense later, especially when the stuff around our lil girl gets revealed more and more. It shows not some random s-f stuff like one maybe wanna expect but rather some of the darker sides of tradition and idea’s of the people in japan. Through its probably not complete realistic i came to think that still some part of it are true while watching this show. I dont wanna go too much into detail here or i will spoil it and thats not what we want, right?
Once again they produce a good story which shows characters that emotionally and mental evolving in a way that feels realistic, through a lil girl with the attitude of Murasaki is rare. But this way of beeing give her presents and also is a important part of the story. What i like is that she isnt that annoying as lil girl with that attitude in other series could be, but that probably comes from the whole situation that give it a different picture from what one is used to. Basically it’s not your nice happy sunday evening series but rather a honest series with some nice parts but a dramatic through still happy end. It keep ones emotion in continious motion from happyness from sadness and to anger. It made me feel a wide range of emotions and let me think a bit about the so called “upper class” after i finished it. Also it a bit of two worlds colliding. So, who like this kinda stuff or wanna give it a try, should watch it.

Sketiching, sketching …. sketching the hidamari Sketch
Yuno has just begun school where she always wanted, Yamabuki High School. She moves out and into an apartment by herself in a complex called Hidamari-so, which is right in front of the school. There, she meets a classmate, Miyako, and a senior student, Hiro. Yuno’s days become hectic as she begins meeting the strange artists that live in her complex. Although she’s not used to her new life style, she begins to actualize her dream while being with these gentle friends. [this time its from AnimeNFO] What we have here is a light comedy which plays in a school setting but with the difference that we have here not the regular every-day school but a art school. This remind maybe a bit on stuff like Honey & Clover but its only focused on comedy. There is no romance stuff or drama at all, but the kowing viewer might find also some lil parodies on other animes like PaniPoni Dash or even on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. But even without this knowlage u can enjoy this one as its not a parodie anime that needs lots of knowlage from other animes like for example Lucky Star. The whole series concentrate on the funny everyday life of the four girls and their friendship. Also quite funny is their teacher which have a cosplay complex but always deny that she do cosplay, desprite she says that its just cause she wants it. In some ways she is a bit childish and often gets punished for her weird ideas but all that add just another fun point to the whole thing. This anime can perfectly watched aside as something for relax and laugh. With 12 episodes and 2 specials its not too short or too long. Also says AniDB that there will be a follow up season in the near future, and i really hope it get also subbed.
Opening (a compilation of all OPs (regular, special etc))
There u can u see nice the chars from the series.
Ending (eng subbed)
And here some funstuff that i found while searching for stuff on Youtube for this entry:
Commercial for Intels Quadcores
German fandubbed version of the opening
I cant help myself but the fandubbed op is somehow scary… anyway get this anime and enjoy it as i did.

Memories… i have some memories, memories of "ef – a tale of memories"…
Based on the visual interactive novel by Minori, featuring character designs by Nanao Naru. The story revolves around the protagonist Hirono Hiro, a poor high school boy who draws shoujo manga for his living. One cold Christmas night after meeting a very strange woman in a church, who tells him that he’s going to meet someone he has to meet, his bike gets stolen by another strange girl. He runs after her and finds her collapsed on the street. Her name is Miyamura Miyako and her bag got stolen by a man on a motorbike. Soon after, they start hanging out together, enjoying highschool life. Miyako falls for Hiro pretty quickly but naturally finds a rival in his childhood friend, Shindou Kei, who has been dictating Hiro’s life since ever. [stolen as usual from AniDB] Well first i got a sense it could end up like Shuffle what means for me that it is half or even three-quarter of it comedy and the from out of nowhere begins the drama. But it wasn’t like that. More its like having 3 seperate little dramas that are connected to eachother through different ways. You might think they end up weaved together but that isnt given, they get a bit together but are still not weaved. While watching i felt often like having a déjà vu. For example when Hiro have Kei piggyback i was instantly thinking of Honey & Clover, where Mayama is having Yamada piggyback. *giggle* Also the name of Hiro-sempai made me think and ToHeart popped up as there our protagonist is also called Hiro-sempai, or Hiro-chan (but there coming from Hiroyuki). There is also more to be found in that direction if u know some stuff. I don’t think its intentional but it’s for me to think back on stuff i enjoyed. Through I thought of it as a drama and it feels until the last episode that way it ends somehow still happy what disappointed me a bit as at least one of them could had have a drama end (one of them as one of the stories). The one with Chihiro was perfect to have a dramatic ending, but well… considering the anime as whole i say it’s ok. The end is always something where I’m pretty picky so lets put that aside.
Trailer (Fall ‘07 Preview with eng subs):
Opening:
This song is called “euphoric field” and is from Tenmon feat. ELISA. At the end of Episode 12 u have this song but as japanese version. I left out the ending as there are multiple (5 different songs).

Pakistan’s Internet was turned off over some videos on YouTube
The Company over that the most internet traffic from Pakistan flows, PCCW, thought it was neccecary to turn off the internetaccess to surpress content while trying to filter out some malicious routes that a Pakistan ISP, namely PieNet announced earlier. PieNet took that step cause of a decree from the Pakistan Goverment that stated all ISP’s have to block YouTube out since it is a source of blasphemy. At least this is the offical reason for this step through some blog points out that there could be more behind all this. This more has to do with Pervez Musharraf, the current President of Pakistan. Actually Musharraf is a very self centered and insecure man these days and has recently learned from his sycophants that YouTube carries many videos critical of his government especially his torture on lawyers and political captives and since during this campaign technology played critical role in influencing people he wants to block out every kind of criticism. Again many citizens have reportedly uploaded video clips showing rigging under process in the constituencies where his allies either won or managed to dilute the verdict. There is distant though connected evidence why this must be true. points out that it might me a cover for a different thing that should get surpressed. This different reason has to do with Actually Musharraf is a very self centered and insecure man these days and has recently learned from his sycophants that YouTube carries many videos critical of his government especially his torture on lawyers and political captives and since during this campaign technology played critical role in influencing people he wants to block out every kind of criticism. Again many citizens have reportedly uploaded video clips showing rigging under process in the constituencies where his allies either won or managed to dilute the verdict. There is distant though connected evidence why this must be true. The day when the government decided to block YouTube two things happened. First AAJ TV brought back on air two of its anchors banned by Musharraf. The channel was immediately blocked by the satellite operator. The crime of the two anchors (Nusrat Javed and Mushtaq Minhas) was only to doubt Musharraf’s previous claims thinking out loud on television. Musharraf’s this ban has affected many of Pakistan’s leading anchors and opinion leaders of which I am aware of Dr Shahid Masood, Hamid Mir, Asma Sherazi and Kashif Abbasi apart from the above two. The second thing that happened was the airing of an investigative report by Geo television which showed footage of rigging in the constituencies of Musharraf loyalists made through hidden camera. This too has reportedly not gone down well with Musharraf. Since in the past the regime also tried to block google’s weblog hosting service blogger.com in the name of countering blasphemy, the ban on YouTube does not seem anything different. But Musharraf’s toadies are not happy with Pakistani blogs and cable channels too. So a similar ban may follow on these outlets too unless the west pressures him not to do so. This episode however has exposed Musharraf’s liberal credentials and committment to fighting extremism yet again. [parts copied from the before named blog, not necassary shows the opinion of the writer of this arcticle]
I can just say its terrible to see how some goverments try to surpress the civilians of their own country just to make sure they wont get criticed. Also this step does more damaged to them then only should down access to YouTube. Let us not forget that there is some buisness that needs the internet to operate so this causes problems not only the the people but also to the companys located in Pakistan. Also this dont throw a good light on this country, cutting their cilvilains off from the world and isolate them. Not they had a good reputation (in my personal opinion) anyway but this don’t make it better, and only help more aggressive parties to gain members. Well, let me hear your thoughts when u read this, and i personally believe way more into the surpression background for this action then some blassphemy reason. Sure Pakistan is a regligious country but still if that would be the cause more then just YouTube would have been blocked already…
